Area by area

Boracay neighbourhoods compared

  1. 01

    Station 1 (northern White Beach)

Best for: Travellers who want a quieter, more upscale stay on the widest part of the beach

Good to know: Calmer evenings, but fewer low-cost options and a longer walk to D'Mall. Ask about shuttle or tricycle access if mobility is limited.

Sights in this area: Ariel's Point, Willy's Rock

  2. 02

    Station 2 (central White Beach)

Best for: First-time visitors who want restaurants, shops and nightlife within a short walk

Good to know: The most convenient base for food, but also the busiest and noisiest after dark. Request a room away from bars.

  3. 03

    Station 3 (southern White Beach)

Best for: Families and older travellers who want a calmer, usually cheaper stay

Good to know: Quieter evenings and access to the market; some resorts here are up steps, so check the route from the beach.

  4. 04

    Bulabog and the east side

Best for: Kiteboarders and windsports enthusiasts

Good to know: Windy, with water quality concerns in travel guides; not the best choice for swimming or for first-timers wanting White Beach.

Before you book

What to check when booking for older travellers

  • Ask for a lift, or a ground-floor room — many heritage hotels have steps and no lift.
  • Check how far the hotel is from the sights you care about, in minutes by road, not kilometres.
  • Prefer free cancellation until close to the date, in case plans or health change.
  • Look for 24-hour reception, in-house dining and a doctor-on-call policy.
  • Read recent reviews for noise — old-city streets and wedding venues can be loud late.
