How to reach Candolim Beach by air

Goa has two airports. Manohar International at Mopa (GOX) is about 30 km from Candolim, roughly an hour or more by road. Dabolim (GOI) is about 40 km away, often 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Prepaid taxis and app cabs serve both.

How to reach Candolim Beach by train

Thivim (THVM) on the Konkan Railway, near Mapusa, is the nearest North Goa railhead, followed by Karmali (KRMI) and Madgaon (MAO). All need a taxi onward; confirm timings with Indian Railways before you travel.

How to reach Candolim Beach by road

Candolim is reached from Panaji (about 12 km) and Mapusa (about 10 km) by state roads, with the Calangute-Candolim road carrying most traffic. Roads are narrow and congested in peak season.

Getting around Candolim Beach

Taxis, app cabs where available and hired scooters are the main ways to get around; autos are limited. Fort Aguada, the village and the market are all within a few kilometres of the beach.

Easy transfers to and in Candolim Beach

  • Choose a base with a pool and ground-floor rooms, and use a taxi for the beach if the walk is long.
  • Carry water, a hat and sunscreen, and confirm that a shack is open before walking along the beach.
  • Cross the main road with care; traffic is heavy and pavements are limited.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
