Day 1: Palace, lake and temple
Spend the morning at Deogarh Mahal and look at the Deogarh-school paintings in its rooms. After lunch, drive to Fort Seengh Sagar to see the lake and watch for birds, then stop at Anjaneshwar Mahadev if energy allows. Return for a rampart dinner or a quiet evening in the town.
Stop Time needed Walking Best time Deogarh Mahal A night or two as a guest; 1–2 hours for an arranged visit or meal Moderate September to March, when the lakes below are full and days are mild Fort Seengh Sagar 2–3 hours for a visit; longer for an overnight stay Easy After the monsoon, roughly October to February, when the lake is full Pace: Moderate walking today — plan a sit-down break between stops.
With parents at Deogarh Mahal: The palace climbs a hill and has steep, narrow stairways and terraces inside thick walls, so ask the hotel for a ground-level suite and about vehicle access to the upper courtyards. Evenings on the ramparts are cool but breezy.
