Delvada (DVA) is a small metre-gauge station about 8 km from Diu with limited passenger services. Veraval Junction (VRL), about 90 km away, is the main railhead and links to Ahmedabad and other cities. Plan a road transfer from either.
How to reach Diu by road
Diu is reached across the creek from the mainland town of Una, linked by road to Veraval, Somnath, Junagadh and Rajkot. Ahmedabad is about 370 km away and Mumbai about 950 km, per district tourism. State and private buses serve the island.

For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Diu
- Carry water, a hat and sun protection at all times, as the coastal humidity makes heat tiring even in winter.
- Hire a taxi with a driver for beach days, and plan a rest between the morning sights and the evening sunset.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
