The short answer

SkyAvenue: what visitors should know first

You will pass through SkyAvenue whether you plan to or not. It is the covered hub for food, shops and cinema, and the best place to shelter from rain. Come for a meal or a stroll, and do not expect cheap prices.

History and context

The story behind SkyAvenue

SkyAvenue was developed as part of the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan launched in 2013 and opened in the 2016 to 2017 phase. It includes the High Line Roof Top Market.

Why it matters

Why SkyAvenue is worth your time

SkyAvenue was delivered in the 2016 and 2017 phase of the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan and is the central social space of the resort. It is where the cable car arrives, where the theme park sits beside it and where most people eat.

For older travellers it is also the practical answer to the weather. Genting is cool, wet and misty for much of the year. A covered, level mall with restaurants and seating makes the hill manageable, even if its character is more commercial than traditional.

Plan your visit

How to experience it

SkyAvenue is where the Awana SkyWay delivers you, so it is the natural starting point. A level-by-level directory helps you find restaurants, shops and the cinema. Allow time to wander; the mall is large and layered.

For food, there is a mix of Malaysian, Chinese, Thai, Western and Japanese options. For Indian and halal dining, the Jom Makan food hall on the ground floor lists Indian vegetarian dishes and a halal area. The upper floor has the High Line Roof Top Market and the Jom Makan Street Food counter with roti canai and dosa. Many listed restaurants have not been confirmed as vegetarian, so ask.

If you want a break, use the mall for the rainy part of the afternoon and head outdoors when it clears. In the evening, it is lively with families and crowds.

Plan with confidence

Small decisions that make the visit easier.

  • Use the directory to find lifts and toilets before you start
  • Ask about egg and fish in any dish labelled vegetarian
  • Carry cash and a card
  • Expect weekend crowds
  • Check casino entry rules separately if you plan to enter it
