The short answer

When to go to Idukki

October to February is the most comfortable window, with clearer skies and mild days, and the 2025 dam access season ran from September to November. June to August is the monsoon, when rain, slippery trails and closures make travel hard. March to May is hotter, so plan activities for the morning. For older travellers, the cooler months make viewpoints and boat trips much easier.
