Walk the main road in the early morning or late afternoon, past neat houses, gardens and the village church, and stop at the edge of the ridge to look over the valleys towards Mizoram. The small Vanghmun market sells daily needs and, in season, oranges.
The government's Eden Tourist Lodge, with its canteen, is the main place to stay, and several families now run homestays with rooftop views and home-cooked food. Tripura's first paragliding centre opened in Vanghmun in 2022; ask locally whether flights are running and what safety arrangements are in place before booking.
