Autos and app cabs work within town. For Coringa, Samalkot, Gollala Mamidada and Uppada, hire a car with a driver for the day, as public transport is limited.

Easy transfers to and in Kakinada

  • Go to Coringa in the morning and carry water, a hat and repellent; there is little shade on the walk to the creek.
  • Hire a car with a driver for the temple circuit; public transport to Samalkot and Gollala Mamidada is limited.
  • Check weather before travelling from October to December, as cyclones can close roads and cancel boat rides.
  • Temples need modest dress and bare feet on hot stone; carry socks.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
