Easy transfers to and in Kanatal

  • Book a hotel that has a driveway to the door, since many stays sit on steep, narrow lanes.
  • Winter brings snow and road closures. Travel only with a driver used to ice and check conditions the day before.
  • Carry regular medicines and a small first-aid kit; medical facilities in the village are basic.
  • Plan lake days in daylight and avoid driving winding roads after dark.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
