Easy transfers to and in Khatu Shyam Ji

  • Phones, cameras and bags are usually deposited at a counter before entry, so carry a small cloth bag with only the essentials and keep medicines and a water bottle accessible.
  • Choose a hotel within walking distance with a lift. Lanes near the temple are crowded, and cars may not be allowed in on festival days.
  • Carry the contact of your driver and agree a meeting point, as phones are left behind and crowds scatter groups.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
