The short answer

When to go to Kolli Hills

August to October is the best window: the hills are green, the waterfalls are in strong flow and the Valvil Ori festival falls in August. November to February is cooler and drier, good for treks and temple visits. March to May is warmer and the views can be hazy. For seniors, early mornings and the cooler months make the ghat road and the viewpoints more comfortable, and heavy rain days are best skipped.
