Pacing
Pacing a Kollur trip for parents and children
- Go for darshan on a weekday morning and avoid Navaratri if crowds are a worry.
- Use a jeep for Kodachadri rather than trekking, or skip the summit if the track is too rough.
- Carry water, an umbrella and a rain jacket; showers come in all months except the dry winter.
- Book a stay near the temple so that you can rest between visits.
- Traditional dress is expected at the temple; pack comfortable footwear that is easy to remove.
- Arrange medical needs ahead; the village has limited facilities and the nearest large hospitals are on the coast.
