Plan 01
1 day in Lakshadweep

Day 1: Agatti arrival and lagoon
One day is only a taste, and is realistic mainly if your flight lands in the morning. After arriving at Agatti with an approved permit, go to your resort and spend the middle of the day in the lagoon, on a glass-bottom boat or snorkelling. Take a short walk through the settlement in the late afternoon, dressed modestly. Do not plan a same-day return unless your operator confirms flight timing, since transfers depend on weather.
Plan 02
2 days in Lakshadweep
- 01
Day 1: Arrival and lagoon
Fly into Agatti and transfer to your resort or to Kavaratti by boat. Settle in, then take a glass-bottom boat ride or gentle snorkelling in the lagoon.
- 02
Day 2: Kavaratti sights
In the early morning, visit the Ujra Mosque and the Marine Aquarium, which are a few blocks apart. Rest at midday, then spend the late afternoon at the eastern jetty. Keep a buffer for the return boat or flight.

Plan 03
3 days in Lakshadweep
- 01
Day 1: Agatti and transfer
Arrive at Agatti, clear any checks and take the boat to your island base, either Kavaratti or the resort on Thinnakara. Use the afternoon for a lagoon swim.
- 02
Day 2: Reef day
Choose snorkelling, an introductory dive with a certified operator, or a glass-bottom boat. Spend the remainder of the day resting.
- 03
Day 3: Culture and departure
If on Kavaratti, see the mosque and aquarium in the morning. Return to Agatti for the flight, leaving generous time because boats and flights depend on the sea.

Pacing
Pacing a Lakshadweep trip for parents and children
- Check the boat transfer before you book. Stepping from jetty to small boat is the hardest moment for older travellers, so ask about assistance or helicopter options.
- Carry regular medicines and a printed prescription. Medical facilities on the smaller islands are limited, and the nearest major hospitals are on the mainland.
- Plan outdoor time for early morning and late afternoon. Humidity stays high all year, and midday sun on a lagoon is stronger than it feels.
- Glass-bottom boats and shallow lagoon wading let non-swimmers see the reef without effort. Scuba diving needs a medical certificate and a minimum age of 14.
- Keep a buffer day at both ends of your trip. Flights, boats and helicopters depend on weather, and the monsoon can delay or stop sea travel.
- Dress modestly, cover shoulders and knees in settlements, and carry a scarf for mosque visits.
