Pacing
Pacing a Lawngtlai trip for parents and children
- Expect very long road journeys; consider the Aizawl helicopter service if it is running and book early.
- Visit only from November to April, when roads are driest and Phawngpui is open.
- Carry medicines, snacks and water; there are few shops outside town.
- Choose Ngengpui or village visits over the Phawngpui expedition if stamina is limited.
- Travel with a local driver who knows hill roads, and plan rest days.
- Season: November to April is dry and the only time Phawngpui accepts visitors. Monsoon rain from May to September makes roads difficult.
