Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Mayapur trip for parents and children
- Take the early darshan and aarti, then rest after prasadam. The campus is quietest and coolest in the first hours after sunrise.
- Use electric totos between the sites along the main road instead of walking in the sun. Agree the fare before you start.
- Ferry ramps and ghat steps can be slippery and uneven. Hold an arm, wear grip-soled footwear and check the last boat time.
- Avoid Gaura Purnima, Janmashtami and weekends in the cool season if you dislike crowds; queues can be very long.
- Book campus rooms well ahead and ask about ground-floor rooms, lifts and attached bathrooms.
- Dress modestly, remove footwear at temple entrances and carry socks for hot paving.
