Inside the ISKCON Mayapur campus
Best for: Pilgrims who want to attend the early aratis on foot
Good to know: ISKCON runs several guest buildings, booked through its official channels; some are reserved for particular members, so check who each building admits. Rules are strict: vegetarian, no intoxicants. It is the quietest base and puts the main temple, samadhi and prasadam halls a short walk away.

The main road between the campus gate and Yogapith
Best for: Travellers who want the outside sites on their doorstep
Good to know: Small lodges and guesthouses cluster along the road served by totos. It is convenient for Yogapith and Srivas Angan, but quality varies, so confirm rooms, hot water and power backup before paying.
- 03
Nabadwip, across the Ganga
Best for: Travellers who arrive by train and want a larger town
Good to know: Nabadwip has more lodges and shops and is near Nabadwip Dham station, with a ferry to Mayapur. It adds a river crossing to every visit, which is slow for elders, and ferry times are limited, so confirm the last boat.

Krishnanagar
Best for: Travellers who prefer a larger town with a bus stand
Good to know: About 20 km from Mayapur, with more hotels and the district's main bus stand. It is only worth considering if Mayapur rooms are full.

Before you book
What to check when booking for older travellers
- Ask for a lift, or a ground-floor room — many heritage hotels have steps and no lift.
- Check how far the hotel is from the sights you care about, in minutes by road, not kilometres.
- Prefer free cancellation until close to the date, in case plans or health change.
- Look for 24-hour reception, in-house dining and a doctor-on-call policy.
- Read recent reviews for noise — old-city streets and wedding venues can be loud late.
