How to reach Mui Ne by road
Mui Ne is about 200 to 220 km north-east of Ho Chi Minh City, about 4 to 5 hours by bus or car. Open-tour buses and private cars also link Mui Ne with Da Lat (about 180 km) and Nha Trang. Road conditions and travel times vary with traffic.
Getting around Mui Ne
The resort strip runs along Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. Local buses connect Phan Thiet and Mui Ne, taxis and Grab are available, and bicycles and motorbikes can be rented. For older travellers, a hired car with driver or hotel transfer is the most comfortable choice.
For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Mui Ne
- Hire a car with driver or a seated jeep tour rather than a rented motorbike. Local traffic and tour jeeps are fast and rules are loosely followed.
- Medical facilities near the strip are limited. Carry travel insurance with medical cover and evacuation, keep prescriptions in their original packs, and ask your hotel which clinic or hospital in Phan Thiet to use.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
