Pacing
Pacing a Murshidabad trip for parents and children
- Start sightseeing at opening time and rest through the afternoon; Murshidabad's midday heat and humidity are tiring even in winter.
- Hazarduari Palace is the most comfortable sight, with level approaches and a cool interior, but the main staircase is steep.
- Katra Mosque, Kathgola and the village temples have uneven ground, steps and little seating. Carry a folding stool or choose a guide who knows where to rest.
- Hire a car with a driver for the whole stay. Auto-rickshaws are fine for short hops but can be rough on long village roads.
- Book a room with a lift or ground-floor access, and check bathroom and water arrangements before you arrive.
- Carry medicines, water and snacks; pharmacies and medical care are limited outside Baharampur.
