The short answer

When to go to Namchi

The best windows are March to May and October to November, when days are mild and views are clearest. Winter is cool and mostly clear but cold on the ridges at night. June to September is monsoon: heavy rain, cloud on the hilltops and landslides that can close the roads for hours, so avoid it if you can. Older travellers should favour the clear months and keep the hilltop visits for the morning, before cloud builds.
