Plan 01
1 day in Rohet
- 01
Day 1: Lake, villages and an evening ride
Arrive from Jodhpur by mid-morning and settle in at the lakeside house. After a late breakfast, take a half-day village loop with a local guide, visiting a Bishnoi household and a potter or weaver if the guide has contacts. Rest through the hot early afternoon. In the last hour of light, either walk around the lake for birds or take a short, easy ride if you ride. Dinner at your stay; drive back to Jodhpur the next morning.
Plan 02
2 days in Rohet
- 01
Day 1: Settle in and the lake
Reach Rohet by lunch, rest, then walk the grounds and lake edge towards sunset. Ask what horses and birds are about that week.
- 02
Day 2: Villages and Khejarli
Go out early for a Bishnoi village visit and, if you like, a drive towards Khejarli to see the memorial to the 1730 tree protectors. Return for lunch and a rest. A short evening ride or jeep loop is optional.

Pacing
Pacing a Rohet trip for parents and children
- Treat Rohet as one base, not a circuit. Choose one outing a day, one in the cool early morning, and rest in the middle of the day.
- The road from Jodhpur is straightforward but rural, and sometimes shared with livestock; ask your driver to avoid driving after dark.
- Skip horse riding if balance or knees are an issue; the stables, the lake walk and a car-based village loop give the same sense of place.
- Jeep seats are firm and the ground is uneven. Ask for a car instead of an open jeep if your back is delicate.
- Carry water, a hat and sunscreen on every outing; shade is limited away from the hotel garden.
- Carry any regular medicines with you. There is little in Rohet beyond the hotel, and Jodhpur has the nearest full hospitals.
