For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Sankri
- Allow a full day for the road from Dehradun and break the journey at Purola or Mussoorie if parents tire easily.
- Carry cash from Purola or Mori, plus regular medicines and a basic first aid kit, as there are no medical facilities nearby.
- Keep a driver and a plan for road closures, which can occur in monsoon and after heavy snow.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
