Before you go
Sonbhadra with elderly parents: what to know
- Use a hired car with a driver; roads are long and facilities are scarce.
- Choose the fossil park, Shivdwar and the dam view over the hill-fort climbs.
- Travel in the cooler months and start early.
- Carry water, snacks and any regular medicines; nothing is guaranteed on site.
- Avoid temples on festival days; Shravan and Shivaratri are very crowded.
- Agree boat arrangements for Agori Fort in advance and check water levels.
