Pacing
Pacing a Sringeri trip for parents and children
- Go in the early morning or on a weekday; queues at the Sharadamba Temple grow on weekends and festivals.
- Ask at the Information Centre for a free foldable wheelchair before you join the queue.
- Pace the south-bank walk: the Narasimha Vanam paths are long and walked barefoot.
- Avoid June to September if you can; the monsoon is heavy and roads in the ghats can be slippery.
- Carry a shawl and wear modest traditional clothing; leave footwear at the stands and keep small change handy.
- Keep a backup room booked, since Peetham guest houses cannot be reserved ahead.
