Area by area

Hua Hin neighbourhoods compared

  1. 01

    Town centre near the beach

Best for: First-timers, seniors and anyone who wants to walk to the beach and station

Good to know: Hotels around the old Railway Hotel area and the night market are within a short ride of most sights. Expect some evening noise near the market and bars; choose a quieter side street.

  2. 02

Beachfront resorts north and south of the centre

Best for: Families who want a pool and a beach garden

Good to know: Large resorts give you lifts, shade and on-site restaurants, which helps with diet requests. You will need a car or Grab for the market and the station.

  3. 03

    Khao Takiab and the south

Best for: Quieter stays near Cicada Market and the headland temples

Good to know: Calmer evenings and a quieter beach, but further from town. Check the walking distance to restaurants and pharmacies before booking.

1 Damnernkasem Road, about 400 m from the town centre · Heritage resort · Price band: ₹₹₹₹

A beachfront hotel on the site of the old Railway Hotel, dating to the early 1920s, with lawns, topiary gardens and four pools.

For older travellers: The resort has wide lawns and level paths, and a beach frontage. Ask for a room near the lift and restaurants.

Before you book

What to check when booking for older travellers

  • Ask for a lift, or a ground-floor room — many heritage hotels have steps and no lift.
  • Check how far the hotel is from the sights you care about, in minutes by road, not kilometres.
  • Prefer free cancellation until close to the date, in case plans or health change.
  • Look for 24-hour reception, in-house dining and a doctor-on-call policy.
  • Read recent reviews for noise — old-city streets and wedding venues can be loud late.
