Easy transfers to and in Mandla

  • Hire a car with a driver; public transport is limited and roads between sights can be long.
  • Avoid April to June when heat is severe, and carry water and a hat at all times.
  • Facilities such as toilets, seating and shade are basic at most sights, so plan breaks and carry essentials.
  • Keep safaris short, ideally one morning drive, because jeeps are bumpy and early mornings are cold.
  • Do not drive long distances after dark; forest roads are poorly lit.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
