For parents and senior travellers

Easy transfers to and in Nagarhole

  • Choose slots when you are rested: the morning drive starts in the dark and can be cold, so carry a shawl or light jacket even in warm months.
  • Stay overnight rather than doing a 10-hour round trip from Bengaluru. Travel in daylight, as elephants cross roads near the forest.
  • Carry regular medicines, water and snacks; facilities near the gates are limited.
  • Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
  • Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
  • Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
