Plan 01
1 day in Nha Trang

Day 1: Cham towers, Buddha and seafront
Start at the Po Nagar towers early, before the heat, and spend about an hour. Drive to Long Son Pagoda and see the white Buddha, climbing the steps only if you are comfortable. Have a plant-based lunch in town, then rest. In the late afternoon walk the Tran Phu seafront and the beach, and eat dinner near the water.
Stop Time needed Walking Best time Long Son Pagoda About 1 hour Demanding Early morning or late afternoon Pace: Long Son Pagoda involves a lot of walking or steps — do it early, and keep the rest of the day light.
With parents at Long Son Pagoda: The climb is 152 stone steps with little shade, which is hard for older visitors and in the heat. The pagoda halls at the base are level, so the main hall can be enjoyed without the climb.

Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Nha Trang trip for parents and children
- Plan outdoor sightseeing before 10 am or after 4 pm; from April to August the midday heat is tiring.
- Choose the Yersin Museum, the cathedral exterior and the seafront promenade as easy outings, and keep the Long Son Pagoda steps for a cooler hour.
- Use metered taxis or Grab and agree long-trip prices in advance; Wikivoyage warns about touts and unmetered taxis.
- Travel insurance matters. Ask your hotel for the nearest international-standard clinic or hospital and carry prescriptions and a letter in English.
- At Long Son Pagoda, entry is free; Wikivoyage warns about people posing as students who ask for 'donations'.
- Cross roads at a steady pace and let scooters flow around you; pavements are often blocked, so the seafront is the easiest place to walk.
