  1. 01

    Chenani–Nashri Tunnel

A 9.28 km road tunnel opened in 2017 that carries most Jammu–Srinagar traffic beneath the Patnitop hill. It explains why Patnitop is quieter than it once was.

    Natha Top

A high ridge off the Sanasar road with long views toward the Kishtwar range and the Brammah massif. Best on a clear morning; it is a viewpoint, not a climb.

    Time needed
    1–2 hours including the drive
    Walking
    Moderate
    Best time
Clear mornings in May–June and September–October; snow in winter
    Tickets
No formal ticket is known; access is by road and a short walk. The route is not always clearly signed, so ask your driver or hotel for the correct turn-off, and check road conditions in winter.

    Sanasar Lake and Meadow

A cup-shaped meadow among conifers with a small lake, a golf course and the quietest scenery near Patnitop. Easy for an unhurried half-day.

    Time needed
    2–4 hours including the drive
    Walking
    Easy
    Best time
May–June and September; spring for tulips; winter for snow
