Phu Quoc's cooking is seafood-led. Fish sauce, made from fermented anchovies, flavours much of what you will eat, and the Duong Dong night market is the main place to see fresh seafood cooked to order. Dining is easy for fish and seafood eaters.

For vegetarian, Jain and vegan travellers, the picture is harder. Directory listings show vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Duong Dong and a vegetarian Indian restaurant, which we list with the diet details we could verify; confirm hours and ingredients before you go, and no restaurant here is confirmed as Jain. Wikivoyage mentions Indian restaurants in Duong Dong, but we could not confirm their menus or whether they are still open, so we do not list them. Ask your hotel to prepare meat-free meals without fish sauce, and check the kitchen understands that fish sauce and shrimp paste are not vegetarian. Resorts with international kitchens can usually manage rice, noodles, vegetables, tofu dishes, fruit and eggs, and larger hotels may arrange Indian or Jain-style meals on request. Carry some dry snacks.

Menus and kitchens change. If you follow a strict diet or have an allergy, confirm with the restaurant before you order.
