In the afternoon walk around Cole Park, then watch the sun go down over the Brahmaputra at Ganeshghat. Finish with an evening stroll at Padum Pukhuri if you have energy.

Day 3: Nameri day trip
Leave early for Nameri National Park, about 35 to 45 km north. Choose a raft trip on the Jia Bhoroli or a short guided forest walk, with binoculars for birds. Return by late afternoon and keep the evening free, as the road is bumpy and the day is tiring.

Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Tezpur trip for parents and children
- Choose a hotel with a lift or ground-floor rooms and easy car access; central streets can be busy and uneven.
- Keep Bhairabi Temple and Mahabhairab for a cool morning and ask about the staircase and vehicle access first; skip them if the climb is too much.
- Cole Park, Padum Pukhuri and Ganeshghat are the easiest stops: largely level, with seating and short walks.
- Avoid April to September if you can; heavy humidity and rain make walking tiring and roads slow.
- Take a car and driver for the day, as the western ruins and temples are spread out and not well signed.
- For Nameri, choose a gentle raft trip or a short guided walk, and start early, because the road is bumpy.
