The short answer

When to go to Mount Bromo

The dry season, roughly May to September, offers the best chance of a clear sunrise and a visible caldera, but nights and dawns are cold and can approach freezing, and school-holiday weekends are crowded. The wet season, roughly December to March, brings cloud and rain that often hide the view. For older travellers, the shoulder months of April, May and October can balance clearer skies with slightly less severe cold. We could not source a reliable monthly temperature table for the caldera, so numbers are left blank.
