Guides for the stops on these routes
Pacing
Pacing a Shivpuri trip for parents and children
- Do outdoor sights before 10 am between March and October; the afternoons are hot and tiring.
- The Scindia Chhatris and Bhadaiya Kund are flat and short; Narwar Fort and rural temples involve uneven ground and few places to sit.
- Hire a car and driver for the day; autos are fine in town but not for the park or day trips.
- Book accommodation in advance and ask about ground-floor rooms; lifts are not guaranteed.
- Carry water, snacks, a hat and any medicines; services outside town are limited.
- Confirm opening hours and fees locally; some are not published online.
